Now, I don’t want to spoil all the amazing insights and tips you’ll hear from our experts, but I do want to share some of the key themes that emerged during the summit—because trust me, they’re powerful. Whether you’re juggling work, family, relationships, or just life in general, there’s something in this summit for everyone.

So, let’s dive into some of these self-care themes that kept coming up during these meaningful chats.

One of the biggest themes that came up over and over again is the idea of baking in your self-care. So, what does that mean? It’s about finding ways to weave self-care into the things you’re doing already, instead of seeing it as something extra. The idea here is that self-care doesn’t have to be this big, separate task.

Another important strategy that was shared is to block off and schedule your self-care. Just like you schedule meetings and appointments, make time for yourself. Set it in stone. Whether it’s five minutes of deep breathing or a full afternoon off, when you schedule it, the likelihood of your self-care activity actually happening goes way up.

We also talked a lot about mindfulness—not just as a meditation practice, but as a way to stay present as you go throughout your day. Being mindful helps you recognize when you need a break and allows you to more fully enjoy your moments of rest.

Another key theme was finding your why—digging into your values. When you connect your self-care practices to what’s most important to you, whether that’s your health, your family, or your personal growth, it becomes much easier to stick to.

Now, something that really resonated during these talks is the struggle that so many of us face: thinking of self-care as less important than everything else or even feeling guilty about it—like self-care is selfish. Many of us have bought into the idea that self-care is something we only deserve after we’ve done everything else, and that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Perfectionism also holds many of us back from even starting with self-care. We wait for the perfect conditions or think self-care needs to look a certain way, but then we end up doing nothing at all. Remember, self-care doesn’t have to be complicated and you’ll hear tips during the summit to help you push past this common roadblock.

Another big theme? Social connections. Self-care isn’t just about what you do alone—it’s about building those connections with people who lift you up, support you, and encourage you. That sense of community can be a huge part of caring for yourself.

These talks also reminded us of the importance of meeting our basic human needs—taking care of our vessel. That’s all about fundamentals like: sleep, hydration, nutrition, movement. Self-care doesn’t have to be glamorous; it starts with the essentials.

And finally, we dug into unrealistic expectations around self-care. There are these societal pressures to push through, to be the nurturer, the one who’s always giving but never receiving. But the truth is, if we don’t care for ourselves, we can’t show up for others in the ways we truly want to.

Now, if these themes resonate with you, I encourage you to dive deeper over at the summit! The themes I just described to you are really just headline level highlights. There’s so much wisdom packed into these talks.

So. head over to psychope.com/roadtrip to sign up and get instant access to all the episodes. Registration is only open until September 23rd, so don’t wait! Once you’re in though, you can listen at your own pace.

This is your chance to carry that warm summer energy into fall, while also getting some real, practical tools to take better care of yourself.

Oh, and I also want to mention that I will be giving a bonus talk at the summit on the autumn equinox. I’ll be sharing a few self-care tips of my own plus a providing a little wind-down session. So, come on over, enjoy the summit, soak up the wisdom, and take that next step in your self-care journey. Get your free access at psychope.com/roadtrip.
